two years

Two years ago today, I launched one of my greatest adventures yet- Annie Poppins Shop. The idea hit me during one of those cliche late-night girl talk sessions while I was living in my sorority house. The ideas became products while I was home over winter break. The shop was live in January. The world (read: my Facebook friends) knew about it on February 8, 2015.

Annie Poppins Shop is a product of my favorite hobbies (and love languages)- gift giving, snail mail and celebrations. I believe that everyone should get something in the mail on their birthday. Victories both big and small deserve to be celebrated equally. “Just Because” gifts are the ultimate day makers. The mission of Annie Poppins Shop is to provide thoughtful and original gifts, for a reasonable price, right at your fingertips. All you have to do is fill out the note and hit ‘order’. The rest is taken care of. There are often times that we, as young adults or college students, want to be able to send a friend a gift or to drop off a quick birthday present, but simply don't have the time to go searching for the right gift, or can’t find anything within our budgets. This shop was created to alleviate those worries and to provide an affordable, unique gift. I’ve called them “gourmet” birthday cards once or twice:)

Over the course of the past two years, life has thrown some unexpected but incredible opportunities my way. Some seasons have been Annie Poppins 24/7- creating new boxes each month, writing for the Annie Poppins lifestyle blog and having a consistent presence on social media. But other seasons have been focused on extra-curricular activities or internships and Annie Poppins Shop has simply looked like filling orders as they come in. While I can’t say that I can see life slowing down anytime soon, my hope is that Annie Poppins won’t either.

Do I hope that one day I can have my own line of greeting cards? YES. Do I dream of being able to design and manufacture trinkets like buttons or patches. All the time. Do I hope that one day Paper Source will want to sell my products? In my wildest dreams. But for now, these joyful jars out of my bedroom closet are my thing. Dreamed and designed by me. Handpicked and packaged by me.

Thanks for sticking with me on this crazy journey. Two years down and many more to come!

xoxo ab
